12:37 p.m. Monday - A pickup truck driven by Michael Rosenwald, 38, of Pittsburgh and a car driven by Jackie Lange, 37, of Slippery Rock collided on North Main Street.8:30 a.m. Monday - A pickup truck driven by Joshua Fend, 22, of 133 Pleasantview Ave. struck several plastic work-zone barricades and an arrow board on Route 8 South. Fend said the crash occurred after he fell asleep at the wheel.Sunday - Dennis Myers said someone within the past month took Pennsylvania license plate YKP8714 from a vehicle at his West New Castle Street home.
7:10 p.m. Thursday - Karen Southworth, 36, of Fenelton was arrested for driving under the influence after her car struck a boat and trailer in a driveway of a New Castle Road home. Police said Southworth drove off after the crash but was later found.In addition to DUI, she is charged with accidents involving damage to unattended property and driving too fast for conditions.
12:36 p.m. Monday - Cars driven by Betty Middendorf, 81, no address given, and Eileen Gilson, 43, no address given, collided on Route 8 near Glenwood Way in Center Township. Gilson, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries,3:22 a.m. Monday - A purse containing money and checks was taken in a burglary at the Dalmagro Road home of Amy Dittmer in Clearfield Township.Monday - Several power tools and a box of hand tools were taken between 4 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday from a construction site at Morgan's Plaza in Summit Township. The stolen property, owned by Renno Borthers of New Brighton, Beaver County, and Right Electric of Butler, is valued at $2,650.Monday - A Craftsman tool box and Club Cadet weedeater were taken from a shed in a burglary between 9 and 9:15 a.m. at the Saxonburg Road home of Richard Rider in Summit Township.Monday - A would-be thief tried to take an Evenrude, 9.9-horsepower motor from a boat at Bob Warren Boat Sales on Oneida Valley Road in Summit Township. Damage in the attempted theft that occurred between 12:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday was estimated at $250.9:15 p.m. Sunday - A car driven by May Garris, 86, of Franklin, Venango County, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Rose Dickey, 23, of Butler collided at Route 8 and Duffy Road in Brady Township. The collision forced the car into a tree.Garris, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with minor injuries to United Community Hospital in Grove City.Sunday - A Sears, 5½-horsepower, 30-gallon air compressor was taken between May 31 and Sunday in a theft at the Oneida Valley Road home of Jerry Logan in Washington Township
3:40 a.m. today - A pickup truck driven by Shane Varner, 21, of Sligo skidded off rain-soaked Route 68 in Toby Township, Clarion County, and struck a utility pole. Varner got out of the pickup before the vehicle ignited in flames. Rimersburg volunteer firefighters extinguished the blaze.Thursday - A car driven by James Clemens, 26, of Rimersburg skidded off rain-soaked Lawsonham Road in Madison Township, Clarion County, struck shrubbery and utility line supports, and rolled onto its side.
Sunday - An unknown burglar between 7 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. stole coins in a jar at the Shadyside home of Kristoffer Bosworth in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County.Saturday - A Sony PlayStation and several DVDs were taken between noon Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday in a theft at the High Street Extension home of Jordan Hohn in Freeport, Armstrong County. The stolen property is valued at $1,380.
