Jean E. Leroy
Jean E. Leroy, 92, of 108 Greenview Gardens died Sunday in the burn unit at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, as a result of injuries received in a fire at her apartment on Nov. 9.
Born in Tarentum, March 27, 1912, she was the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Ellen Shields Miller.
She was a homemaker and had been a cook at the Woolworth store on Main street for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Leroy was a Protestant. She was a former member of the French and Belgium Club Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Richard M. and William L. Leroy, both of Butler; a brother, George A. Miller of Harmony; and two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Alice) Miller and Mrs. Mary Etta Armstrong, both of Butler. She also is survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel Leroy, who died in 1984; a brother, and a sister.
LEROY - Friends of Jean E. Leroy, who died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clark Sawyer, pastor of Hill United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be St. Michael Cemetery.
