Lifesteps plans events for Week of the Young Child

The Butler County Early Education Council, a community collaborative to support school readiness coordinated by Lifesteps, is celebrating national Week of the Young Child, which is April 2 to 8.

Several special events following the theme “Exploring Our Colorful Feelings” have been planned by the council.

Families can pick up free activity bags at any of the nine libraries in the Butler County Federated Library System, which are located throughout the county.

From April 9 to 30, families can participate in seven fun, virtual early learning playrooms related to early literacy, emotions and feelings, music and movement, speech and hearing, health and hygiene, nutrition and other areas of child development.

Registration for the playrooms is available at butlerlibrary.beanstack.org and opens April 2.

The lead sponsor for the council’s Week of the Young Child is Butler County Human Services.
