The first round of the PIAA playoffs in volleyball and boys and girls soccer are set.

All games are Tuesday:

The Knoch volleyball team will begin their 3A state title defense against Elizabeth Forward at 7 p.m. at North Catholic High School.

WPIAL 2A champion North Catholic will take on North Star at 7 p.m. North Allegheny High School.

Freeport will begin its 2A title defense against District 9 champion Redbank Valley at 5 p.m. at DuBois.

The Seneca Valley boys soccer team, coming off a WPIAL 4A title, will travel to Hempfield to take on Hempfield at 5 p.m.

The WPIAL 4A champion Seneca Valley girls will clash with Central Dauphin at 7 p.m. at Hempfield.

The Mars girls will play Manheim Central at Cedar Crest High School in Lebanon at 5 p.m. in a 3A match.

Karns City, the District 9 2A champions, will play Villa Maria at 7 p.m. at Clarion High School.

The Moniteau football team will play Ridway Saturday at 1 p.m. at DuBois High School in the District 9 2A playoffs.

Slippery Rock will take on Grove City at 8 p.m. Saturday at SRU in the District 10 3A playoffs.
