Young 80th birthday
Edward Young of Butler celebrated his 80th birthday with an open house July 4 at the home of his daughter.
Young was born July 3, 1931, in Chicora.
He married Margaret Dolores (Hipple) Young on Nov. 27, 1952, at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
He has eight children, Debra Elaine Young-Podbros of Cranston, R.I., Duane Edmond Young of Russellville, Ark., David Edward Young, Daryl Eugene Young, Denis Ellery Young, Deron Everet Young and Doris Eloise Young-Peters, all of Butler, and Diane Eileen McDonald of Chicora.
He also has 20 grandchildren.
He is retired from Armco in Butler, where he was a craneman and worked in processing maintenance.
He is a member of the Chicora Moose, East Butler Fireman’s Club and American Legion Post 642 in Chicora.
He belongs to St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church.
