6:50 p.m. Monday — Larry Curtis, 36, was arrested for allegedly assaulting Stephanie Murdy, 21, of Butler during a domestic dispute at his West Penn Street apartment. Curtis is charged with simple assault.
3:37 p.m. Friday — Ricky Lee McClain II, 19, of East Butler and a 16-year-old boy are accused of shoplifting electronic merchandise from the Wal-Mart store at Butler Commons. McClain ran from the store but police caught him on Rural Drive after a brief chase.Police said McClain is charged with retail theft, corruption of minors and disorderly conduct. Police did not identify the boy; it was not immediately known if he, too, has been charged in the case.
11:20 p.m. Monday — A vehicle driven by Mark A. Hartman, 38, of Ford City crashed along Colonial Road in North Buffalo Township. Hartman was treated for unknown injuries at ACMHHospital in Kittanning.8:08 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Nicole Taladay, 25, of Freeport struck a deer on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.
12:30 p.m. Tuesday — Melissa Rae McKinney, 39, of Grove City is accused of attempting to illegally acquire prescription medication at the Medicine Shoppe on Greenville Road in Greenville.Police said that when they arrested McKinney, she had prescription narcotics for another person. She was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and attempted possession of a controlled substance, and placed in MercerCounty Jail on $30,000 bond.11:45 a.m. Friday — Vehicles driven by Sharon W. Hunter, 49, of Grove City and Gregory Ries, no age given, of Sandy Lake collided at Route 173 and 965 in Worth Township.Police said both drivers were treated for minor injuries at Grove City Medical Center. Hunter was cited for a lane violation in the crash, a police report said.8:41 p.m. Thursday — Vehicles driven by Ronald W. King, no age given, of Grove City and Edward Fuller, no age given, of Franklin collided on Route 208 in Pine Township. Police said King fled the scene after the crash.
Monday — An unknown thief between 6 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Monday stole about 100 feet of copper wire from the driveway at the Route 19 home of Bryan Dorr in Scott Township.
