KC schools continue to have in-person classes 4 days a week
The Karns City Area School District is conducting in-person classes four days a week and remote classes on Fridays to follow state guidelines based on community COVID-19 transmission rates.
Butler and Armstrong counties, two of the three counties that lie in the district, are in the substantial level of community transmission that calls for districts to implement measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
The third county, Clarion, is in the moderate transmission level.
The school board discussed the matter during its April 12 meeting and agreed to continue operating with four days of in-person and one day of remote classes, Superintendent Eric Ritzert said.
There are no active COVID-19 cases in any of the three schools in the district.
