SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University women’s tennis standout Lacey Cohen has been named PSAC West Athlete of the Week.

Cohen extended her singles winning streak to five and finished the regular season with records of 17-7 in doubles, 16-13 in singles.

[naviga:h3]Butler’s Daugherty shines for Rock[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Butler graduate Wyatt Daugherty, a senior pitcher on the Slippery Rock University baseball team, struck out seven over six innings in leading SRU to a 4-2 victory over Indiana (Pa.) in the first game of a doubleheader Monday at Critchfield Park.

Daugherty allowed only three hits. Alex Worthington pitched a scoreless seventh inning to get the win. Joe Canpagna hit a walk-off two-run homer in the seventh for The Rock.

IUP won the second game, 6-5, dropping SRU to 14-25 overall, 4-18 in the PSAC West.

SRU hosts Pitt-Johnstown in a 1 p.m,. twinbill Tuesday at Critchfield Park.
