Clarence 'Ed' Fetterman
Clarence Edgar “Ed” Fetterman, 94, of Butler died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1917, in Butler, he was a son of the late Emanuel Edgar Fetterman and Jenny T. Clark.
He had worked in the strip shears department for the Armco Steel Plant in Butler. He retired in 1979 after 43 years.
Ed was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
He enjoyed reading, singing, riding in the car, camping and most of all his family and good humor.
Surviving are three sons, Gerald “Jerry” Fetterman of Chicora, Thomas “Tom” Fetterman and his wife, Sarah, of Pine Bush, N.Y., and Michael “Mike” Fetterman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. Delmar (M. Elaine) Simpson of Butler, Mrs. Richard (Marcia) Marburger of Evans City, Mrs. John (Rita) Beitch of Evans City, Mrs. Monica Crouse of River View, Fla., and Mrs. Bruce (Janet) Horstman of Butler; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Paganelli of Butler; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Fetterman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Sinz) Fetterman, who he married Jan. 15, 1941, and who died Jan. 11, 2010; two sons, Edgar John and Charles Robert Fetterman; a daughter-in-law, Karen Corsivo; three brothers, Russell, James and Paul Fetterman; and four sisters, Mary Elizabeth, Delta Mae, Catherine and Sarah Jane.
FETTERMAN — Friends of Clarence Edgar “Ed” Fetterman, who died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, will be received at the
Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.
