Police seek injured missing man

David McGinty

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — State police are asking for the public's assistance in locating an injured man who fled the scene of a car accident Monday night.

Police, fire and EMS units responded around 6 p.m. Monday to Route 8 near the intersection with Ralston Road for a one-vehicle crash.

EMS and witnesses at the scene said that the driver, identified as David McGinty, 57, of Slippery Rock, had fled into the woods and has a wound on his head, according to state police.

State police and volunteer firefighters searched the area for McGinty, but did not find him. Another search Tuesday night was unsuccessful, police said.

Anyone with information about McGinty's whereabouts is asked to call State Police in Butler at 724-284-8100.
