Kenneth A. Neely, 64, of Butler died at his home at 12:25 a.m. Saturday surrounded by his family.

Born May 16, 1945, in Butler, he was the son of the late James Byrd and Violet A. Morris Neely.

He graduated from the New Castle Business School. He owned and operated his own business, Neely Construction.

He enjoyed playing poker, table games, bowling, hunting and gardening. His favorite pastimes were cooking his family's favorite foods, being outdoors with his grandchildren and spending time with his family and friends.

He was the beloved husband of L. Jane (Mershimer) Neely for 46 years. They married Aug. 14, 1963. He was the loving father of Paula Casper and her partner, Trent Slater, of Butler, Mrs. Michael (Shelia) Brady of Meridian; cherished grandfather of Brittney Casper, Mrs. John (Melissa) Monroe, PFC Beau Bechtel, RCT Clayton Casper, Colin Brady, Brett Brady and Maguire Brady; and cherished great-grandfather of Jordan Monroe. He also is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Richard (Cora Edith) Hinz of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mrs. Virginia Hicks and Mrs. Florence Lipford, both of Bartow, Fla., Mrs. Gilbert (Helen) Weber of West Lake, Ohio, Mrs. Marge Manilla and Mrs. Peter (Norma) Comninos of Sharon; and a brother, Mr. Jim and Dorie Neely of Masury, Ohio; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mr. Arthur "Wib" Neely.

<B>NEELY</B> — Friends of Kenneth A. Neely, who died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will follow at noon with the Rev. Matt Kail of the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Muddycreek Cemetery.
