Park Renovations planned

The following municipalities received funds from the Butler County Local Park Renovation Grant program:

City of Butler

Purchase and installation of new playground equipment at Father Marinaro Park.

Connoquenessing

Purchase and installation of new playground equipment, which would cater to smaller children, for Connoquenessing Borough Park.

East Butler

Replacement of skins on four baseball fields and purchase of infield mix.

Eau Claire

Purchase and installation of fencing along the first- and third-base lines of the existing baseball field.

Evans City

Purchase and installation of playground border ties, new fall surface and picnic table replacements.

Jefferson Township

Removal of shingles and underlay, and the purchase and installation of new shingles on two pavilions.

Lancaster Township

Sandblasting and undercoat to the existing playground structure; the purchase and installation of engineered wood fiber fall surface; mulch surfacing for around existing trees; and replacement of existing park rules signs.

Marion Township

A $10,000 contribution toward matching a state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) grant. The state grant includes a new playground unit, fall surface, site preparation and repair of the fall surface border and removal of existing playground equipment.

Middlesex Township

A $10,000 contribution toward matching a DCNR grant. The DCNR grant includes a new large playground unit, playground installation and fall surface.

Penn Township

Purchase and installation of a new swingset and an additional boundary area for an accessible swingset.

Seven Fields

Purchase and restoration of areas in the Seven Fields Town Park building, including the bathrooms, locker rooms and concession area.

Slippery Rock

Purchase and renovation of the existing softball field, including the removal of vegetation, the performance of topography, laser grade surfacing and the installation of infield mix.

Slippery Rock Township

Purchase of new picnic tables and trash cans for the outdoor picnic shelter.
