After crashing his motorcycle in Center Township on Sept. 16, an Emlenton man wandered into a nearby junkyard and passed out, according to police, and later became belligerent once responders arrived.

Police found Daniel C. Jones, 59, passed out on his back at the entrance to the junkyard, according to the report. The smell of liquor was heavy on him and when he began to speak, according to court documents, he was incoherent. His eyes were glassy and bloodshot and police said they found a flask on Jones with alcohol in it.

“He was extremely uncooperative and combative towards EMS and Troopers,” according to a police report. One of the responding troopers rode with Jones in the ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Once there, he continued his belligerence, according to the police report, yelling and screaming and cursing the whole emergency department.

While the trooper read a chemical test warning to Jones, he began to curse, saying “let me (expletive) die.” The trooper told him to stop but he didn’t, which caused the whole department to be “disturbed,” police said. A state police spokesman was unable to elaborate on what that meant but a spokeswoman with the hospital said the emergency department never shuts down, regardless of what may be happening.

Jones faces charges of drunken driving, disorderly conduct, disregarding traffic lane and careless driving.
