Bruce and Joan Dickey of Slippery Rock celebrated 50 years of marriage with a buffet reception and western square and line dancing on June 12 in Harrisville. Family, neighbors, church friends and members of the Paws and Taws Club attended the event.

The former Joan Bollinger married Dickey on June 10, 1954, in Grove City.

They have five children, Daryl Dickey of New Castle, Sheree Hack and Karen Finnegan, both of Mercer; and Dawn Staph and Douglas Dickey, both of Slippery Rock.

They also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dickey is a retired mill worker and farmer.

Mrs. Dickey is a cashier at the Giant Eagle supermarket in Slippery Rock.

The couple attends North Liberty Presbyterian Church in Grove City.
