The Centre City Parking Garage will have kiosks and gates in place by early January, according to project manager Joe Saeler.

Saeler said during Tuesday’s Butler City Council meeting that the process of installing the kiosks and gates will take “a few weeks.”

Permit parkers already are using the garage. The plumbing contract with Reno Bros. is complete, and Saeler reported that the city ended up with $5,315 under budget from that contract.

Saeler said he expects to be under budget with the city’s other parking garage contracts.

The parking garage is a four-floor, 239-space structure at the corner of McKean and Jefferson Streets. It is part of the $13.2 million Centre City project, along with a 76-room Marriott Springhill Suites hotel that is under construction next to it.
