Abandoned former train station damaged by fire
Volunteer firefighters this afternoon put out a fire at a former train station in Chicora.
The abandoned building, which reportedly was used as a train station in the 1930s, was fully engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived on West Slippery Rock Street.
It's not yet known what started the blaze in the structure.
Seven departments responded.
The building has not been in use for decades, according to neighbors.
