Dora Elizabeth "Betty" King, 66, of Karns City, formerly of North Washington, passed away at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Butler County. She was the daughter of the late William Earl Christie and Maude Luella Sankey Christie.

She was a member of the North Washington Presbyterian Church, the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department and the ladies auxiliary of the fire department.

She bowled in the Ladies Bowling League at the Bruin Lanes and was a member of the Bunko Club and Card Club.

She had been employed at Bobbie Brooks and retired in 2007 from the food services at the Moniteau School District.

Survivors include her husband, Paul E. King, who she married Aug. 11, 1962; two sons, Anthony E. King and his wife, Charlene, of Karns City and Leslie P. King and his wife, Robin, of Karns City; four grandchildren, Shane, Drake, Brock and Makayla; two sisters, Mrs. Gary (Geraldine) McConnell of Cranesville and Mrs. Dave (Helen) Hayden of West Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews. In her early years, she baby-sat two little girls who were like daughters to her, Danielle Book and Lindsey Doolin, who also survive.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Double.

<B>KING</B> — Friends of Dora Elizabeth "Betty" King, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert V. Mathias, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the North Washington Presbyterian Church.
