Community college marks downtown move with sign

Butler County Community College has heralded its arrival in downtown Butler with its sign on the second floor level of the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources building on Main Street.

BUTLER — Butler County Community College made its mark on downtown Butler Tuesday, with the addition of a BC3 sign on the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources building on Main Street.

The glossy, 150-pound, 8-foot wide by 3.5-foot tall aluminum sign added to the blue and gray building at 127 S. Main Street is a visual representation of the college's expansion into downtown Butler.

In August, BC3 relocated the college's coordinator of community leadership initiatives office to the second floor of the ANR building.

The move established BC3's first presence in the city of Butler and fulfills part of college's 2017-2022 strategic plan that calls for the college to enhance its community engagement with a town-and-gown strategy that increases the college's presence in the community.

BC3 was drawn to the ANR building because additional space is available there if needed.

“There is the flexibility for BC3 to expand or to contract very easily with our arrangement with ANR,” said James Hrabosky, BC3's vice president for administration and finance in an earlier Eagle report. “We are going to use an office and some meeting rooms and some training rooms.”
