Nicholas Zidek recorded three goals to lead the Freeport hockey team to a 9-1 victory over Greensburg Central Catholic in PIHL Class A action Thursday at the Belmont Complex.

Justin Drzemiecki, Tyler Bonitsky, Tyler Sherrieb, Nicholas Spangler, Gregory Newman and Cole Hepler also scored for the Yellowjackets.

Hunter Kepple added three assists while Drzemiecki, Devin Christy and John Bird added two apiece.

Mars 5, Serra Catholic 1 — Also in Class A, Robert Foley scored three times and Austin Heakins added three assists to power the Planets past the Eagles at the Rostraver Ice Gardens.Nick Blaney added a goal and two assists and Joe Bender one goal and one assists for Mars.

Thomas Jefferson 10, Knoch 1 — Joe Maringo accounted for the Knights lone score off assists by Alex Fuerst and Tyler Barkman.Knoch goalie Grant Donnelly still managed to make 45 saves in the game.
