North Boundary Road to close for a month

CRANBERRY TWP — North Boundary Road will be closed starting June 18 for reconstruction work that will last about a month.

The road will be closed from Pinehurst Drive to Franklin Road until July 16, weather permitting.

The detour eastbound on North Boundary will direct traffic to Marshall Road, then to Rowan Road and back onto Franklin Road. A map of the detour is posted on Cranberry Township's website. Residents in the work area will have access to their homes as directed by traffic control in the field.

The project is reconstructing the intersection of North Boundary and Franklin Road to improve sight lines for drivers. The road is also being widened and smoothed from Pinehurst Drive to Franklin Road.

Traffic islands are being added at the entrance to the Pinehurst residential development to slow traffic and make it safer for pedestrians to cross the road to North Boundary Park.

There will be access to North Boundary Park, the Cranberry Waterpark and the Pinehurst neighborhood from the west side of North Boundary Road off Route 19.
