Brown, Johnston pile up victories

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Monday’s Early Daily Double in harness racing at The Meadows was an all-Butler County affair.

Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown captured the first race while Evans City’s Shawn Johnston won the second.

Brown drove Happy Trio to victory in a $6,000 Conditioned Pace while Johnston led Call Me Thevfireman, a horse he also trains, to a win in a $10,000 Conditioned Trot.

Brown also won with Casey T in a $9,200 Conditioned Trot and with Opportunist against 5-1 odds.
