Players earn KSAC honors

A-C Valley pitcher/third baseman Cole Terwilliger was named Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference MVP recently.

Terwilliger was dominant both on the mound and at the plate this season for the Falcons.

He was 9-2 with a 1.43 ERA heading into the Falcons’ playoff loss to Ridgway Tuesday.

On offense, he batted .492 with two home runs, seven doubles and 23 RBI for A-C Valley.

His battery mate, Kevin Kaufman was first-team KSAC catcher. Karns City’s Nathan Weckely also earn first-team honors behind the plate.

Two Moniteau players earned first-team honors in softball.

Emily Hiwiller was tabbed as a first-team catcher and Chloe Eshenbaugh made the first team in the infield.

The KSAC track and field all-conference teams were also released.

Karns City’s Matt Slagle was voted boys track MVP. Karns City’s Emily Schumacher was named the girls track MVP and Moniteau’s Heather Porter shared field MVP honors with Laken Ganoe of Cranberry.

Karns City also swept first team honors in all three boys and girls relays with Schumacher and Breann Wood claiming first-team spots in multiple events.
