12:28 a.m. today — Jesse Cunningham, 26, of Clearfield Township was arrested for driving under the influence on West Jefferson Street.6:24 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by James Caldwell, 31, and a car driven by Kenneth Ferguson, no age given, both of Butler, collided at West Brady and Miller streets. Caldwell was cited for not stopping at a stop sign.4:47 a.m. Sunday — An unidentified vehicle struck the rear of a car on Second Street and did not stop after the crash. Susan Cadwallader of Butler owns the car, which sustained heavy damage. The car, after the crash, was pushed into another parked car, owned by Melissa Koch of Butler.3:35 p.m. Saturday — An unidentified black car struck another vehicle driven by Vincent Messina, 81, of Butler at South Washington and West Wayne streets. The driver of the car, an unknown young woman with dark hair, drove off after the collision.4:25 a.m. Saturday — Robert Grubbs, 24, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Sandi Kradel, 24, during a domestic dispute at the couple's Hilltop Avenue home. Grubbs is charged with simple assault, and remains in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.3:10 a.m. Saturday — Jessica Pletcher, 25, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after she drove to the Butler police station to check on her boyfriend, who had been arrested earlier that morning for DUI.12:32 a.m. Saturday — Thomas Schmitt, 23, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at North McKean and East Pearl streets. He was also cited for careless driving.12 a.m. Saturday — Michael Smock, 27, of Winfield Township was arrested for driving under the influence on West Jefferson Street.1:02 p.m. Thursday — David Lee Smith, 39, of Summit Township was arrested for allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend, Jayne Martin, 36, of Butler outside a Virginia Avenue home. Smith is charged with simple assault.1 p.m. Thursday — Two Pittsburgh men were arrested for allegedly stealing wooden pallets outside the Kmart store in Pullman Square. Police said they caught the men with 10 pallets loaded in their pickup at the store.Dwayne Upshur, 45, and George Wheeler, 25, are charged with theft, conspiracy and receiving stolen property. Both are free after each posted a $1,000 bond.
10:05 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by William Ireland, 36, of Butler crashed into a large rock on Lions Road near Benbrook Road in Center Township.2:40 p.m. Sunday — Sport utility vehicles driven by John McClymonds, 57, of Cranberry Township and George Summerville, 58, of Zelienople collided on Route 19 and Johnson Road in Muddy Creek Township.Summerville, who was wearing a seat belt, and an unidentified passenger in his SUV were taken with moderate injuries to UPMC Passavant Cranberry. McClymonds, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.5:30 p.m. Saturday — A van driven by Aaron Baysek, 22, of Evans City struck a ditch and embankment, and rolled onto its side on Marburger Road in Forward Township. Baysek, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Police said the crash occurred when Baysek fell asleep at the wheel. He was cited for careless driving, a lane violation, and driving with a suspended license.2:38 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Joshua Lowry, 18, of Saxonburg and Chad Helgert, 33, of Sarver collided on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Lowry, who was pulling out of a gas station, was cited for illegally entering the road.7:11 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Justin Rape, 18, of Russellton, Allegheny County, struck a guardrail on Route 288 East in Middlesex Township. Rape was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.3:31 a.m. Saturday — Eric Murray, 25, of Cabot was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle struck a large rock on Saxonburg Road at Mintwood Lane in Jefferson Township.He also faces citations for careless driving, driving too fast for conditions, and a lane violation.3 a.m. Saturday — Steven Macklin, 40, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at East North and Franklin streets in Butler.2 a.m. Saturday — Steven Marchitello, 18, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a minor crash at Kiester Road and Cameron Drive in Slippery Rock Township.11:50 p.m. Friday — A car driven by George Smith, 19, of Slippery Rock struck a utility pole along North Duffy Road in Center Township. He was cited for careless driving.7:43 p.m. Friday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Harmony boy, who police did not identify, struck an embankment and flipped onto its roof on Beacon Road in Forward Township. The boy, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered unknown injuries. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.3:18 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Spencer Collins, 18, of Chicora struck an embankment and flipped onto its roof on St. Joe's Road in Oakland Township. Collins was cited for driving too fast for conditions.12:05 p.m. Friday — Cars driven by Kelly Wolfe, 20, of Slippery Rock and Lauren Anderson, 21, of Pittsburgh collided at Route 108 and Normal Avenue in Slippery Rock. Wolfe's car, after the crash, struck a utility pole. She was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.Friday — An unknown thief between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:45 a.m. Friday stole compact discs and money from three unlocked vehicles in driveways on Bullcreek Road in Jefferson Township.Police noted that footprints indicated the thief stopped at every driveway with parked cars at much of Bullcreek Road; however, only vehicles not locked were entered.11:45 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Micheline Saluga, 55, of Hilliards crashed on Route 38 near Hohn Road in Oakland Township. Saluga was cited for driving too fast for conditions.8:25 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Diane Double, no age given, of Slippery Road struck a disabled sport utility vehicle parked along snow-covered Kiester Road, near Hungarian Road, in Slippery Rock Township. Richard Noel of Ravena, S.C., owns the SUV.Wednesday — A 2-by-4 wooden sign shaped like a lollipop was stolen from the Lollipop Lane home of William Lewandowski Brady Township. The sign, valued at $75, was taken between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.Tuesday — A number of tools, owned by Pipelines Systems, were taken between last Monday and Tuesday from a work site on Renfrew Road in Penn Township.
2:30 a.m. Saturday — Duane Stewart, 45, of Sligo was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 near Huey Road in Toby Township, Clarion County.
7:30 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Bronwyn Maggi, no age given of Washington, Pa., went off Interstate 79 and ran into a ditch in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Police said the crash occurred when Maggi fell asleep at the wheel. He was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.Sunday — A white, 2001 Ford Mustang was stolen between 1:30 and 3 p.m. from the Prime Outlets parking lot in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Larry Cvetkovich of Canfield, Ohio, owns the car, which is a convertible with a tan roof.Saturday — A wallet and two purses were taken from a back room used by employees at the Nine West Factory Store, Prime Outlets in Springfield Township, Mercer County. The theft occurred between 6:55 and 7 p.m.The suspected thief is described as black, about 40 years old, 6 feet tall with a husky build. He was wearing a black jacket with dark brown lining.12:25 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Larry Wagner Jr., 23, of New Wilmington traveled off Route 2002 in Springfield Township, Mercer County, and struck a guide wire to a utility pole. Police said Wagner and a passenger, Richard Vogan, 23, of New Wilmington, fled the crash site, leaving the pickup behind. The crash remains under investigation.
