[naviga:h3]SRU football No. 9 in Division II poll[/naviga:h3]
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University football team, 6-0 for the first time since 1962, has moved up to No. 9 on the American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II poll.
Indiana (Pa.), also 6-0 and The Rock’s opponent for homecoming Saturday, has moved up to No. 3 nationally.
This marks the third time in the history of this rivalry that both teams are ranked in the top 10 nationally. The other years were 1998 and 1999, SRU winning those games 27-21 and 52-14, respectively.
[naviga:h3]Bilowick has lead at Senior Amateur[/naviga:h3]
SEWICKLEY — George Bilowick of Butler Country Club carded an even-par 70 Monday to share the lead in the Super-Seniors division of the 86th annual WPGA Senior Amateur at Allegheny Country Club.
Bilowick shares the lead with Paul Schlachter of Bridgeville. Joe Ruby of Uniontown and Dave DeNezza of Greensburg are one stroke back.
The 36-hole tournament concludes Tuesday.
