Thelma Jane Marra, 90, of Marra Lane in Butler died Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born July 10, 1920, in Butler, a daughter of the late Joseph Roy and Wyona Douthett Heichel.

Thelma was a homemaker, mother and grandmother and was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She was a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Herman and the Christian Mothers at St. Mary Parish.

Mrs. Marra enjoyed cooking and reading and especially loved being with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-granddaughter.

Her husband, George L. Marra, who she married Oct. 18, 1939, preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1979. Three brothers, Joseph Heichel Jr., Harry Heichel and Richard Heichel, and a sister, Virginia Scarpitti, also preceded her.

Surviving are two sons and their wives, George L. Marra Jr. and Joyce Marra of Butler and John R. and Lisa Marra of Herman; seven daughters and their husbands, Camilla and Stanley Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev., Judy and Richard Spryn of Fenelton, Sandra and Frank Magyar of Butler, Pat and Don Rayl of Raleigh, N.C., Mary and Scott McConahy of New Castle, Rita and Earl McMasters of New Castle and Dwella Rodgers of Meridian; a brother, Donald Heichel and his wife, Mary Heichel, of Butler; three sisters, Dorothy Mercatell and Donna Palmer, both of Butler, and Helen Liell of Kansas City, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>MARRA</B>— Friends of Thelma Jane Marra, who died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday at the church to recite the rosary.Information and a guest book are available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
