Freeport's Schmidt gets PAC honor
ERIE — Freeport graduate Ashleigh Schmidt, a junior softball player at Penn State Behrend, has been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Schmidt tossed her team’s first no-hitter since 2009, striking out five in a win over Medaille. She then allowed two hits and no runs in 3.2 innings of relief vs. Mt. Aloysius.
