Sept. 24 — A Lawrence County man was charged with assaulting his wife at her apartment on North Main Street. The defendant, Micah W. Pronesti, 36, of Bessemer, allegedly pushed the victim Sept. 11 and slammed her head into a wall.
Police said the woman had two bruises on her arms. Pronesti is charged with simple assault.

5:06 p.m. Sept. 23 — Timothy M. Smith, 50, of Butler was found with suspected marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop on Route 8 south.
Smith is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration, failing to surrender license plates and driving a vehicle without insurance.

Sept. 25 — Aaron J. Gregor, 39, of Butler allegedly submitted a state license to carry firearms application that included answers about his criminal record that were not truthful and were rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System that is run by the state police.
Gregor is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.
[naviga:h3]State Park Rangers[/naviga:h3]
Sept. 26 — Cynthia A. Sadler, 55, of Connoquenessing Township was charged with felony drug possession in connection with an incident last month near the boat launch at Moraine State Park in Franklin Township.
Authorities said a ranger noticed Sadler’s car about 3:30 p.m. Sept. 2 parked on an access road at the boat launch with an inoperative daylight running light. When the park official approached the car to inform her of the problem, he smelled marijuana, according to court documents.
The ranger searched the car and seized two jars and two baggies containing suspected marijuana as well as a scale, packing materials and marijuana roaches.
Sadler is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Franklin[/naviga:h3]
8:20 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Robert S. Barger, 29, of Emlenton and a pickup truck driven by James C. Conner, 74, of Newcomerstown, Ohio, collided on Interstate 80 in Clinton Township, Venango County. No one was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]
6:15 p.m. Friday — One person was hurt when a car driven by Laura L. Lauster, 38, of Saxonburg struck another car while changing lanes on Route 28 north near exit 16 in Harrison Township, Allegheny County.
Police said Lauster’s car caught fire following the collision. She was able to exit the vehicle and was not injured.
The other driver, Clifford C. Simmons, 62, of Kittanning, according to a police report, was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights with an apparent minor injury.
