Tuesday — Brandon L. Russell, 26, of Butler was charged in connection with a shoplifting incident last week at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. He is accused of taking $179.25 in merchandise March 31.

Police noted Russell was previously banned from the store. He is charged with retail theft and defiant trespass.

7:29 p.m. Monday — No one was injured when vehicles driven by Heather Kelly, 43, and a 17-year-old girl collided on Route 68 next to the Sheetz store. The vehicle driven by the girl, who police did not identify, had to be towed.

March 27 — Police charged Thomas M. Lucas, 54, of Butler with driving during suspension stemming from a traffic stop earlier on Hansen Avenue. He was pulled over around 1:30 p.m. March 21.

He is charged with a misdemeanor count of driving with a suspended license-DUI related and a summary charge of driving a vehicle with unsafe equipment.

According to a police report, Lucas has seven prior convictions for driving with a suspended license-DUI related.

March 26 — Jan E. Campbell, 53, of Butler was charged with misdemeanor retail theft for an earlier incident at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is accused of failing to scan numerous items worth $214.49 March 20 at the self-checkout aisle.

March 25 — Adam M. Anderson, 27, of Butler was allegedly caught with marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on New Castle Road. Police said he was a passenger in the vehicle.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

10:15 p.m. Friday — Mark D. Edie, 43, of Slippery Rock was allegedly caught with marijuana and drug contraband at the Hunter Farm Park/soccer fields. Police said he was in the park after hours.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

State Police, Butler

8:12 p.m. Monday — A 32-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at West Park Road and Route 108 in Worth Township. Charges are pending against the man, who police did not identify.

8:50 a.m. Saturday — Maureen E. Bricker, 18, of Evans City lost control of her car and crossed over into the opposing lane, traveling off the road and hitting a guardrail on Route 528 just south of Upper Harmony Road in Connoquenessing Township.

The car swerved back across the road, hitting an embankment and overturning. Bricker, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured. Police cited her for disregarding traffic lanes.

6:53 a.m. April 4 — Cars driven by Quay D. Steffan, 43, of Butler and Joshua A. Sullivan, 34, of Cadogan, Armstrong County, collided on Route 68 just east of Double Road in Connoquenessing Township. Police cited Steffan for a stop-sign violation.

1:48 p.m. April 1 — An SUV driven by Russell T. Woods, 19, of Jeanette, Westmoreland County, struck a car while turning at Franklin and South Main streets in Slippery Rock. Jensen A. Baker, 23, of Grove City was the other driver.

Both drivers and a passenger in Woods’ vehicle were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Police cited Woods for making an improper left turn.
