Man with warrants lands in prison after 911 hang-up
MIDDLESEX TWP — Police weren’t sure what they were going to find Thursday morning when they answered a 911 hang-up call at a home on Overbrook Road.
In time, officers determined an overnight visitor at the house was having a medical emergency about 9:20 a.m., said Middlesex Township police Sgt. Randy Ruediger.
But it turned out that the victim, 31-year-old Ronald M. Brain, was wanted on a pair of more than year-old bench warrants in Butler County.
Brain was first taken to the Butler Memorial Hospital in connection with the medical issue. He was later released to the custody of sheriff’s deputies, who took him to the Butler County Prison.
He remains jailed on the warrants that were issued in March 2017 after he failed to appear at court hearings in two unrelated 2016 criminal cases — one for felony theft and the other for misdemeanor drug possession.
The warrants showed Brain has a Harrisville address. When he was booked into the prison Thursday he used a New Castle address.
Ruediger noted when they found the defendant, he had a Florida driver’s license.
