Three Degree Road forum planned

ADAMS TWP — Supervisors hope to educate the public on the Three Degree Road turnback project in a community forum next month.

Township officials in 2020 worked closely with PennDOT to finalize the road turnback.

The project will allow the township to own and maintain roughly five miles of Three Degree Road from the border of Valencia to the area of Union Church Road.

Ron Shemela, supervisor vice chairman, said Monday night the three-phase project will take place over the next couple years.

The township plans to have project drawings available for public viewing. The event will be conducted similarly to PennDOT road work presentations, Shemela said.

The public will be able to ask questions about the project and its three phases.

The first phase will cover the area from the Valencia border to Route 228. The second covers Route 228 to Hammond Road. The third spans Hammond Road to Union Church Road.

Supervisors approved holding the forum from 6 to 8 p.m. April 13.

Supervisors also authorized township officials to finalize existing rights-of-way granted to the township associated with the project.
