Martha Hemphill

Martha Hemphill of Saxonburg celebrated her 100th birthday with an open house at Cooper Station Restaurant in Sarver.

The former Martha Harvey was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Butler County. She married the late Kenneth L. Hemphill in June 1935.

She has four children, Norma Gratzer of Cabot, Alan Hemphill of Saxonburg, Sharon Stephens of Sarver and the late Darold Hemphill.

She also has four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hemphill, a housewife, farmed with her husband.

She is a member of Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church.

She also is a member of Blue Star Mothers, Saxonburg Golden Agers, Saxonburg VFW Auxiliary, Jefferson Grange Card Party and other card parties in the area.
