The Associated Artists of Butler County is sponsoring an evening motor coach trip May 24 to Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh to view the glass art of Dale Chihuly.

BUTLER TWP — A Blessing of the Bikes will be held May 19, beginning at Zanotti’s, Route 8.Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at Zanotti’s. Participants will depart at 10 a.m. to go to Christ’s Outreach Church in Butler for a bike blessing service and lunch.The ride will resume at 12:30 p.m. and will conclude at 2:30 p.m. with a visit to the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.Donations will be accepted for lunch. CHERRY TWP — The bands of Moniteau Junior-Senior High School will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the high school auditorium, 1810 West Sunbury Road.Admission is free.

The Butler Notables barbershop chorus recently made a donation of $200 to the 4 Paws for Kate fund, which is raising $12,000 to purchase an assistance dog for Kate Billings, a four-year-old Cranberry Township resident diagnosed with autism.The chorus is challenging other area groups to meet or exceed their donation. SLIPPERY ROCK — As part of a summer class at Slippery Rock University, a trip has been planned to the Stratford Festival of Canada to see five plays.The trip is open to the public. Registration in the class is not required.Cost is $550, which includes lodging, transportation, and tickets to the plays “Oklahoma,” “King Lear,” “Merchant of Venice,” “Comedy of Errors” and “Othello.”Participants can purchase tickets for additional plays as well.Information about the festival is available at www.stratford-festival.on.ca.For information about the trip or to register, contact SRU International Services at 724-738-2057.
