9:40 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Joseph P. Katko, 58, of Butler struck a parked vehicle owned by Eric J. McKain of Butler on Brown Avenue. Katko was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
8:11 p.m. Monday — A 15-year-old boy was charged with criminal trespass after he allegedly entered Clarence Brown School through an unlocked window after closing. Nothing was stolen or damaged.4 p.m. Oct. 19 — Patrick Roth of Butler was charged with driving under the influence and false reports to law enforcement. The charges stem from a traffic accident on Oct. 10.
3:46 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Shane E. Rhodes of New Castle and a vehicle driven by Stephen P. Eury of Portersville collided at the intersection of Route 488 and Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Eury suffered moderate injuries and Rhodes sustained a minor injury. Rhodes was not wearing a seat belt and has been cited in connection with the accident.10:50 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Anthony Spataro, 22, of Valencia and a vehicle driven by Arshad Mahmood, 54, of Wexford collided at the intersection of Route 488 and Route 528 in Prospect. Mahmood had minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt. Spataro and his passenger, Matt Augustine, 19, of Gibsonia, were not injured.6:10 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Ross Blackwell, 42, of Butler struck a deer on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. Blackwell was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.7:25 p.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Daniel Schiebel, 47, of Chicora struck a deer on Route 422 in Summit Township. Schiebel was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.4:25 p.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Louise Ann Morrell, 46, of West Sunbury and a vehicle driven by Lawrence H. Rihel, 41, of Butler collided on Route 8 near Glenwood Way in Center Township. Morrell had moderate injuries and Rihel sustained minor injuries. Both drivers were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Butler Ambulance Service. Both were wearing seat belts.4:07 p.m. Wednesday — Alyson M. Ream, 21, of Oil City was arrested for allegedly stealing $488 worth of clothing from J.C. Penney at Clearview Mall in Center Township.1 p.m. Wednesday — Someone damaged a mailbox belonging to John S. Knox, 55, of Evans City on Shannon Road in Connoquenessing Township between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.11:12 a.m. Tuesday — Someone driving a light brown SUV collided with a vehicle driven by Judith Parker, 65, of Butler on Route 8 near Glennwood Way, then fled. Parker was wearing a seat belt and the extent of her injuries is unknown. Anyone with information should call state police at 724-284-8100.10 a.m. Tuesday — Someone pried open a door, broke into an antique cash register and stole $350 from the Beacon Hotel on Beacon Road in Forward Township between 1 and 10 a.m. Tuesday.8:35 a.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Hattie Williams, 84, of Karns City and a vehicle driven by Melinda Cribb, 42, of Bruin collided on Fairmont Road near Route 68 in Fairview Township. Cribb had a minor injury and was wearing a seat belt. Williams and her passengers, Eleanor Rottman, 81, of Petrolia and Alda Edwards, 86, of Chicora, were not injured.Tuesday — Two juveniles from Portersville, a 16 -year-old and a 17-year-old, allegedly broke into a mobile home owned by Robert C. Babcock of Pittsburgh on Charles Street in Muddy Creek Township. Extensive damage was caused to the water lines, light fixtures and carpeting. They are facing charges through the juvenile court.7:30 a.m. Monday — Someone cut the catalytic converter off a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier owned by Billie Jo Coover of Ford City while it was parked at Keystone Springs in Muddy Creek Township between noon Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Monday. The catalytic converter is valued at $200.Oct. 12 — An unknown person crashed a 2000 Honda Civic into a ditch on Ralston Road in Slippery Rock Township.
Thursday — State police and the Armstrong County DUI Task Force will have a sobriety checkpoint this weekend in the Kittanning area, supplemented by roving patrols.6:15 a.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Dennis Kotal, 51, of Worthington struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Hindman Hill Road in West Franklin Township. Kotal was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
1:13 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Kevin Ortz, 19, of Emlenton hit a utility pole and rolled over on Route 338 in Beaver Township. Ortz was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
2:29 a.m. Sunday — Lynne M. Bailey, 31, of Evans City, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, disregard of traffic lane and driving without lights following a traffic stop on Evans City Road, Route 68, near the intersection with Lindsay Road, Route 528.12:43 a.m. Sunday — Terry D. Keil, 28, of Zelienople, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on Evans City Road, Route 68.Oct. 18 — George Ripper, 49, of Evans City was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, not carrying his driver's license, and disregard of traffic lane following a traffic stop on Evans City Road, Route 68.11:25 a.m. Oct. 16 — Vehicles driven by Vincent Ferrainola, 16, of Harmony and Terry Cochran, 45, of Harmony collided at the intersection of Little Creek and Mercer roads. One minor injury was reported, but neither driver nor a passenger in Cochran's vehicle were taken to the hospital. Ferrainola received a traffic citation for a stop sign violation.
