The following items have been gathered from various police departments:
Sunday, 2:02 p.m. — OK Y. Chung, 66, of Slippery Rock, lost control of her passenger vehicle as she was driving east on Ralston Road in Slippery Rock Township. Because of the road conditions, she was driving too fast and the car began to spin sideways. The car then slid over an embankment, flipping over on its roof and landing in a creek. Chung suffered minor injuries, but refused to be transported.Sunday, 10:57 a.m. — Kenneth J. Goodrum, 26, of Lyndora, lost control of his passenger car on West Sunbury Road near Rider Church Road while driving north. He hit a southbound SUV, disabling both vehicles. No injuries were reported.Sunday, 9:11 a.m. — While driving a passenger vehicle south on I-79, Ahjahlay A. Lyle, 27, of McKeesport, drifted onto the right shoulder and hit a guard rail. Lyle was uninjured and her car had to be towed.Thursday, 4:53 p.m. — John E. Schmitt, 48, of Sarver, veered into oncoming traffic while he was an SUV driving west on Moorehead Road. Schmitt drove into a center lane, where he hit another vehicle that was going east. The eastbound vehicle was being driven by Kyle N. Lauster, 18, of Saxonburg. Lauster attempted to avoid Schmitt, but was unable to miss the other vehicle. Both vehicles were disabled. Nobody was injured.Wednesday, 2 p.m. — Keith E. Bartholomew, 53, of West Sunbury, was driving through a gas station parking lot in Center Township when he sideswiped another vehicle with his car. Bartholomew fled the scene of the accident for unknown reasons, and he has been cited for a hit and run.Dec. 20, 11:37 a.m. — An unknown person drove their car into the trestle of a bridge on West Slippery Rock Street and Grove Avenue that is used for trains. Police did not indicate if the bridge took damage. They did not name any suspects.
