8:54 p.m. Aug. 27 — An 18-year-old Parker man was arrested after he got into a motor vehicle accident in Parker City, Armstrong County, and was allegedly found to be under the influence of drugs.
Kyle Nelson crashed his vehicle near 309 S. Wayne Ave. Upon their arrival, troopers noticed that Nelson displayed signs of intoxication and placed him under arrest on a DUI charge, police said.
1:03 p.m. Aug. 29 — A 47-year-old Butler man was arrested on Brown Road in Center Township after police took custody of a stolen Glock .40 caliber handgun that was reported stolen by Butler police. The victim was a 37-year-old Parker man.
6:46 p.m. Aug. 29 — A 53-year-old Clay Township man reported that his red Yamaha Motor Corp quad had been stolen, police said. The victim said the vehicle was parked at 208 Webb Road at the time of the theft. The vehicle’s item number is 7NU08018B. Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact PSP-Butler at 724-284-8100.
7:32 a.m. Sept. 16 — A 25-year-old man from Oil City, Venango County, lost control of his vehicle and struck a railroad tie while driving in Armstrong County, police said. Abraham Lewis was traveling south on North Riverview Drive in Hovey Township near the intersection of PA Route 58 when he attempted to slow down, but lost control of his vehicle due to the road being wet. He exited the right side of the road and struck the railroad tie, causing disabling damage to the vehicle. He was not injured, but his vehicle was towed.
9:09 p.m. Sept. 19 — A 42-year-old Bruin man fell asleep at the wheel while driving on Route 68 and struck a tree, police said. Michael Hutchinson was traveling northbound when he fell asleep, crossed into the southbound lane and crashed into a tree on the left side of the road. Police said he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Hutchinson was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital for a possible injury.
3:40 p.m. Sept. 22 — Police said they arrested a 42-year-old Butler woman when they responded to a retail theft incident in Center Township and found the suspect to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
The incident took place at a Boscov’s department store. The suspect’s name has not been released.
7:52 a.m. Sept. 30 — An 18-year-old Karns City woman struck a utility pole after falling asleep while driving in Center Township, police said.
Amelia Brown was driving south on Oneida Valley Drive when she dozed off and struck the utility pole. She was not injured.
9:03 p.m. Oct. 3 — Two cars collided on State Route 8 in Center Township, causing one vehicle to smack into a mailbox, police said. Oliver Price, 77, of Mars was attempting to make a left turn onto State Route 8 from North Benbrook Road when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Bailee Hrobak, 20, of Leechburg, Armstrong County, according to the police report. This caused Price’s vehicle to strike a mailbox at 2001 William Flinn Highway. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage as a result of the crash. No injuries were reported, but both cars were towed. Price was issued a citation, police said.
7:32 a.m. Oct. 4 — A crash on North Duffy Road in Center Township in which the driver fled the scene damaged two mailboxes, police said. The crash occurred when the driver was heading west on North Duffy Road, went off the road and struck the mailboxes. One mailbox was for a residence at 498 N. Duffy Road, while the other was at 499 N. Duffy Road. The driver fled the scene without notifying the property owners. Neither property owner witnessed the crash take place.
8:53 p.m. Oct. 5 — A 64-year-old Cranberry Township woman crashed her vehicle after striking a deer on I-79, police said. Dienne Fisher was driving south on the interstate in Jackson Township when she struck a deer with the front of her car as it moved into I-79’s southbound lanes. The crash caused disabling damage to the car, and Fisher was transported to UPMC Passavant Cranberry by a family member to be checked for injuries. Her car was towed.
