Ethan Folmer won the triple jump and Dustan Joyce broke his own school indoor record in the long jump Saturday as Slippery Rock competed in a high school indoor track meet at Youngstown State University.
Folmer won the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, 8.45 inches. Joyce, a freshman, placed third in the triple jump with a 39-4 and third in the long jump, his new school record now sitting at 20 feet, 6.5 inches.
The Rockets’ Cullen Birkes placed fifth in the boys pole vault with a vault of 12 feet, 4 inches.
Seaton Wozniak took second in the shot put at the Tri-State Track Coaches Association indoor championships at Edinboro. His throw was 52 feet, 5.25 inches.
Boys Basketball
Summit Academy bowed to Ellwood City, 72-42, in a WPIAL Class 3A first round playoff tilt Monday night. Kylee Davenport bucketed 25 points for the Knights, who finish their season with a 7-9 mark.
Girls Basketball
Ella McDermott struck for 28 points Saturday, but Slippery Rock dropped a 55-46 decision at Greenville.
Bronwyn McCoy added eight points for the Rockets, who trailed by seven points at halftime and by nine after three quarters.
