Sentence Court

Common Pleas Court Judge William R. Shaffer handed down sentences in a number of criminal cases Thursday in sentence court.

Jonathan Regis Shuler, 34, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 12 months, less one day, to 24 months, less two days, in the county prison followed by 12 months of probation, and ordered to pay $7,695 in restitution to Kristy Kleen Car Wash in Saxonburg after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was given credit for 319 days already served in jail. State police filed the charges following a November 2020 incident.

Ryan Thomas Moore, 43, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison, but was immediately paroled, and serve 60 months of probation, including 105 days of house arrest, after pleading guilty to charges in four cases, including his first and second driving under the influence charges. The other charges included possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by unlawful taking. The sentence included fines totaling $2,500, restitution of $5,356, 40 hours of community service and completion of alcohol highway safety school and litter pickup. Butler Township police charged him with his second DUI following a March 16 incident. State police charged him with his first DUI following a July 2020, incident. Township police charged him with theft following a Dec. 24, 2020, incident, and with possession of drug paraphernalia following a Jan. 6 incident.

Anthony Raymond Tiano, 26, of Fairview, W.Va., was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, pay a $1,000 fine, and perform 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his first DUI offense. State police filed charges following an April 22 incident.

Jocelyn Marie Daugherty, 22, of Butler, was sentenced to serve a total of 66 months of probation, pay fines totaling $2,500 and complete alcohol highway safety school and litter pickup after pleading guilty to her first and second DUI charges filed by state police in November 2019 and January this year, respectively.

Jolene Lorraine Schirra, 35, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve 48 to 96 hours in prison followed by 176 days of probation, pay a $500 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school and litter pickup after pleading guilty to her first DUI and a summary traffic violation filed by Butler Township police following a December 2020 incident.

Shylear Whymay Person, 24, of Sharon, was sentenced to serve a total of 30 months of probation after pleading guilty to charges of simple assault and terroristic threats filed by Butler City police following a September 2019 incident.

Mitchell Kelle Warfield, 36, of Emlenton was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison, but was immediately paroled, after pleading guilty to his first DUI filed by state police following an October 2020 incident. His sentence included serving seven days of house arrest, a $1,000 fine and completion of litter pickup.

Christopher M. Friedman, 37, of Beaver Falls, was sentenced to serve three to 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled, and ordered to pay a $75 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Zelienople police following an October 2020 incident.

Jeffrey Barrett Taylor, 42, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of access device fraud filed by state police in June.

Kayla Ann Nye, 32, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve six months of probation and pay a $25 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct filed by state police following a March 2019 incident and a charge of retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following an August 2020 incident.
