An Aug. 13 wedding is being planned by Stephanie Burgard of Portersville and Scott Garing Jr. of Evans City.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Larry and Joanna Burgard of Portersville. Parents of the prospective-bridegroom are Scott and Deborah Garing of Evans City.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Slippery Rock High School and a 2004 graduate of Butler County Community College, where she earned a degree as a medical assistant. She is currently a student at BC3, studying to be a physical therapy assistant.

Her fiancé graduated in 2001 from Seneca Valley High School. He recently returned after serving with the Army in Iraq for nine months. He is employed with Cranberry Ambulance in Cranberry Township.
