Shawn Matthews and Andy Knauff both scored goals as the Mars boys soccer team held off visiting Highlands, 2-1 on Saturday.

The win improves the Planets to 3-0 in Section 2-AA. Mars hosts Kittanning on Tuesday.

Butler 2, Shaler 1 — Jake Campbell scored the game-winning goal in overtime on an assist from Blake McChesney as the Golden Tornado defeated the Titans. McChesney also scored a goal in the win.

Knoch 1, Hampton 0 — Adam Sharbaugh's goal was the difference maker in the Knights' victory over the Talbots. Buddy Carr picked up an assist while Steven Frey played a tremendous game with the shutout.

Slippery Rock 9, Sharon 0 — Wes Craig scored three goals for the Rockets, while Mike Ramirez and Ryan Gercken both tallied two goals.

Seneca Valley 3, North Allegheny 2 — The Raiders received two goals from junior Kevin Andreone, including the game-winner with two minutes left.

Grove City 1, Hickory 0 — Shaun Barr's unassisted goal in the second half was all the Eagles (2-0) needed to beat the Hornets. Justin Gildersleeve earned the shutout in net with 10 saves.
