The Knoch boys cross country team finished first overall at the Lakeview Invitational on Saturday, while the girls squad placed second, thanks to the performances of Jolene and Alyssa Kunkel.

The duo finished first and second respectively, in the 11-team event. Jolene won with a time of 19 minutes, 39.46 seconds and Alyssa's time was 20:28.81.

The Knights boys team was led by Owen Venesky, who was third with a time of 17:02.97, but Knoch grabbed places 7-10 to lock up the boys title.

Next was Rachel Richter (42nd), Susan Timko (68th), Calley Bridges (77th) and Sarah Grabner (94th).The Rockets return to action Tuesday when they host Meadville.

Steve Frey was credited with nine saves.On Friday, Knoch tied Pine-Richland 1-1 as Sharbaugh scored off a Kevin Wood assist and Frey made 15 saves.<B>Slippery Rock 6, Grove City 0 — </B>Michael Ramirez had three goals and an assist to power the Rockets.Brandon Zarichnak had a goal and two assists, Wes Craig and Ryan Hyatt also scored and Matt Doerr added an assistfor Slippery Rock (6-1-1, 5-0-1). Abir Chatterjee recorded the shutout in net.

<B>Grove City 1, Kennedy Catholic 0 — </B>Christy Allison netted the game's lone goal and Darcie Holmes made it stand with eight saves in net.Grove City's junior varsity squad lost 3-1.

At the Grove City Tournament on Saturday, Butler placed second overall in the 15-team event. The Tornado defeated Altoona 2-0 in the semifinals before losing to Cochranton in the finals.Butler returns to action Tuesday at Seneca Valley.
