Gremlins snare overtime win

Aaron McGarvey scored in the closing minutes of overtime to give Karns City a 3-2 victory over DuBois Central Catholic in boys soccer action Wednesday.

Cory Terwilliger accounted for the Gremlins (9-1, 9-0) other two goals while Chris Harmon contributed two assists.

The Cardinals had tied the game with 40 seconds left in regulation.

Slippery Rock 4, Kennedy Catholic 0 — Ryan Gercken netted two goals and an assist, and Wes Craig and Michael Ramirez also scored for the Rockets.Dan Jeon and Willie Cassidy chipped in with assists while Abir Chatterjee earned the shutout in net for Slippery Rock (8-1-1, 7-0-1).

Hampton 6, Knoch 5 — Amanda Sharbaugh netted three goals for the Knights (4-7-1, 4-4) while Amanda Bartell scored two.Contributing assists were Alex Gordon (2), Liz McElroy and Bartell.

Zoe Hughes had 15 kills and 15 service points, but Knoch suffered its first loss of the season, falling 25-13, 17-25, 19-25, 21-25 to section rival Mars.Liz Hill and Ashley Neurohr each added six kills for the Knights (7-1, 5-1).
