Mars will host a doubleheader Monday night as the WPIALannounced its boys and girls soccer playoff brackets Wednesday.

Butler's boys (15-3-1) will face Chartiers Valley (13-5) at 6 p.m. in Class AAAplay at Mars' football stadium. The Planets boys (15-2-1) host Waynesburg (15-5) at 8 in Class AAaction.

Two other playoff games Monday involve Butler County teams. Knoch's boys (13-3-4) play at Burrell (13-4-1)in Class AA play at 7 p.m. while Seneca Valley's girls (13-3-1) travel to Franklin Regional (13-5-2) for a 6 p.m. Class AAAmatchup.

In a Class AA game Tuesday, Freeport's girls (15-3-1) play at Quaker Valley (8-8-2) at 6 p.m.

Mars and Knoch are involved in Class AAAgirls play-in games Saturday. The Planets (10-5-4) play at Moon (14-4-1) at 3 p.m., with the winner to play Peters Township on Tuesday.

The Knights (10-9-1) play at North Allegheny (8-9-3) at 3 p.m., with the winner to face Mount Lebanon on Tuesday.

Courtney Boroski scored three goals Wednesday as Freeport defeated Karns City, 6-3.Kayla Eckman added a pair of goals for the Yellowjackets (15-3-1).Christen Futcher, Emily Potchak and Allyson Kepple all scored for Karns City (14-4-1), which hosts Bradford at 2 p.m. Saturday.<B>Knoch 3, Plum 2 — </B>Alex Gordon scored one goal and assisted on two others to lead the Knights in nonsection action.Amanda Sharbaugh added one goal and one assist, and Amanda Bartell had the other goal for Knoch (10-9-1).

Veronica Martin had 21 assists and two aces as Moniteau won its first match of the season with a 25-10, 25-20, 25-14 triumph over Venango Catholic.The Warriors JV team also won, 25-17, 25-13.
