Sheppeck sparkles in Knoch's victory

Amanda Sheppeck pitched a four-hitter and smacked a pair of doubles and a single to lead the Knoch softball team to a 9-2 victory over Indiana Thursday.

The Knights also received a three-run homer from Jade Thrower and three singles from Chelsea Martin.

In other games:

• Mars was limited to two hits, both by Saber Horner, in losing a 1-0 decision to Hampton.

• Karly Kaufman struck out eight and gave up six hits in six innings, but her defense betrayed the A-C Valley pitcher in an 11-0 loss to Keystone.

All 11 runs were unearned as the Falcons (1-1) committed 10 errors.

Vincentian 13, Knoch 10 — Despite three goals apiece from Krissy Harbison and Paige Macadeag, the Knights came up short Thursday.Jess Protzman, Hilary Rihn, Brooke Baillet and Jamie Antoszyk also netted a goal for Knoch (0-3), which plays at Shaler today.
