Courtney Grootegoed struck out nine and pitched a one-hitter in a complete-game performance as the Seneca Valley softball team beat Fox Chapel 4-0 Tuesday.

Megan McCormick and Kelsey Gray each singled and doubled for the Raiders (11-3, 7-2).

The victory marked the 100th career win for SV coach George Trew, who is in his eighth year of leading the team.

In other games:

• Jade Thrower and Mindy Bierhals each singled and tripled as Knoch nipped Hampton, 3-2.

• Autumn Neff had a game of a lifetime for Moniteau.

Neff hit two grand slams, scored five runs and drove in 10 to lead the Warriors to a 28-6 thumping of East Forest.

Moniteau (6-1, 4-1) scored 17 runs in the first inning.

• Mars grabbed a 3-2 win over visiting Kittanning. Kayla Durkin picked up the win for the Planets (3-9, 2-9).

• Allie Atwood and Karly Kaufman each had two hits in A-C Valley's 8-4 loss to Redbank Valley.

Kaufman tossed a four-inning no-hitter Monday as the Falcons blanked West Forest, 19-0.

• Jessica Hotz collected three more hits, but SlipperyRock fell to region foe Reynolds, 15-5.

• Ashton Pakutz shut out WestForest for five innings and also tripled to lead Karns City to a 13-0 win.
