Union's quest for its first football victory of the season fell short in overtime Friday night.

The Golden Knights (0-4) trailed by eight points when Colby Davis scored on a 4-yard run — his third touchdown of the night — with 54 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Matt Gagliano tossed a conversion pass to Zach Traister to tie the game.

Keystone (2-2) posted a 36-30 overtime victory, however, when Brent Zuck pulled in a 6-yard touchdown pass from Dan Reed, then held off the Knights on their possession.

On fourth down from the Keystone 10, Gagliano threw for Kurtis Shirey in the end zone, but the ball was batted away.

"Their defender made a good play on the ball,"Union coach Jeremy Lipps said. "We were so close tonight. We ask the kids to give us their heart for 48 minutes, and tonight we got it."

Davis had 26 carries for 121 yards. Gagliano threw for 116 yards and a touchdown for Union.

Reed threw a pair of touchdown passes and returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score to lead Keystone.

"Even though we lost, this is a turning point for our program,"Lipps said. "We showed that we can compete."

Ford City 42, Summit Academy 7 — Sean Kriley had 14 carries for 153 yards and five touchdowns to lead unbeaten Ford City past Summit Academy.Darnell Jenkins had 15 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown for the Knights (0-4).
