Booth's 28 sparks Union

Scott Booth continued his torrid start to the season with 28 points as the Union boys basketball team outlasted A-C Valley 74-62 Wednesday night.

Booth scored 16 of his points in the second half as the Golden Knights pulled away.

NeilScott added 10 points and 13 rebounds and Logan Mortimer and Zac Smith also hit double digits in scoring for Union (4-2, 2-2).

Blayne McGuirk scored 18 points to lead A-C Valley.

Brandon Bauer earned a fall in the final match of the night to secure a 39-30 Butler wrestling win over Hampton Wednesday night.The 103-pounder pinned Zach Daugherty to the mat in 1 minute, 51 seconds. Kristy Daubner set a Knoch school record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.82 seconds as the Knights lost to Hampton 94-80 Wednesday night.Daubner was also on the Knights' 200 medley relay team with Nikkie Krause, Rachel Tano and Jill Vogus that took home a first-place finish.Tano earned a first in the 200 freestyle and Krause win the 200 individual medley for Knoch (0-2). Vogus captured first in the 100 butterfly.On the boys side, Knoch got second-place finishes from Van McCarren in the 200 freestyle, Josh Tackett in the 100 backstroke and Aaron Goldman in the 100 breaststroke in a 93-67 loss to Hampton.
