SR uses OT buzzer beater to top Hickory

The Slippery Rock High boys basketball team scored 34 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime in its Region 5 matchup with Hickory, then used a buzzer beater by Alec McDeavitt to pull out the 72-71 victory.

Derrick Orloski had 26 points and Ethan Geisler added 17 for the Rockets (9-12, 5-9), who trailed by 13 entering the fourth quarter.

Hickory (19-3, 11-3) received 22 points from Matt Durisko, 20 from Jordan Wilds and 16 from Jamie Shepherd.

Butler senior Justin O'Donnell notched his 17th win in goal as Ford City's varsity hockey team defeated Greensburg Salem, 6-1, recently at the Nevin Arena.Fellow Butler seniors Tanner Master (1 goal, 3 assists) and R.C.
