Tornado cruise to 9-0 win over Foxes

Matt Monnie pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out nine, as the Butler baseball team cruised to a 9-0 section win at Fox Chapel Friday afternoon.

Tyler Slepski doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Eric King collected a double and two RBI for the Golden Tornado (8-4, 3-2).

In other games:

• Nathan Junk scattered four hits over seven innings to lead Knoch to a 7-3 section win over Highlands.

John DeWalt homered, singled and drove in two runs for the Knights (4-7, 3-2).

Nick Comport lashed a double, but Mars fell to Shady Side Academy 8-2.
