Tyler Kotch scored three goals and had an assist as the Butler boys lacrosse team opened the WPIAL Division II playoffs with a 10-3 win over Trinity at Art Bernardi Stadium Thursday.

Evan Andreyo scored two goals and Cody Conklin had a goal and four assists to lead a balanced Golden Tornado attack.

Goalie Alex Hill had eight saves for Butler, which will play Greensburg Central Catholic, a 15-7 winner over Erie Cathedral Prep, at 5 p.m. Wednesday at North Allegheny.

Butler's season came to an end following a 15-5 loss to Quaker Valley in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs.Chelsey Rock and Amanda Huey each scored two goals and Liz Manuel had one for the Golden Tornado (6-10).

Butler dropped a 3-1 decision to Latrobe in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs. No information was available
