Slippery Rock senior quarterback Ayron Gallagher rushed for 166 yards, but a last-second field goal doomed the Rockets to a 17-14 loss at Fort LeBoeuf in high school football Friday night.

Adam Nass booted a 22-yard field goal as time expired for the Bisons.

Nass made a 27-yarder, but had to re-kick after Slippery Rock was called for encroachment.

Gallagher scored on a 24-yard run in the first quarter to give Slippery Rock a 7-0 lead.

After Fort LeBoeuf tied the score, Justin Angerett plowed in from the 2 late in the second quarter to give the Rockets a 14-7 lead at halftime.

But with 11 seconds remaining in the game, Slippery Rock was forced to punt from its own end zone. A good return set up Bisons for the game-winning kick.

Angerett finished with 48 yards rushing on 10 carries and caught two passes.

"We made some young mistakes," said Slippery Rock coach Glenn Hazlet. "We fumbled the ball a couple of times, but overall I was pleased with how we played. It was a tough loss, but we'll learn from it."

Brookville 54, Union 34 — Trent Corle threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns, and Zach Traister ran for 167 yards and a score, but the Golden Knights came up short.Ron Carey caught a 68-yard touchdown pass, Brody Pollock caught a 17-yarder and Taylor Smith grabbed a 45-yard toss from Corle."We just had too many breakdowns defensively," Union coach Al Pryor said. Keystone 47, A-C Valley 8 — Michael Orrvick scored the Falcons' lone touchdown on a run in the final quarter.Dan Reed threw for 243 yards and three scores. Brett Zuck had 103 yards receiving for the Panthers.

Shady Side Academy 7, Summit Academy 0 — Geno Thorpe scored the game's lone touchdown on a 31-yard run in the first quarter.Brian Nickel had 29 carries for 163 yards for the winners. Summit Academy was held to 35 yards and two first down-.
